About B.Sc. Optometry
Bachelor of Science in optometry is a four-year undergraduate program consisting of eight semesters of study .Out of eight semesters, six semesters are theory based and undertaken in classroom. An internship program conducts the remaining two semesters. Optometry is a healthcare profession dealing with eye and vision care. Optometry course focus on eye care, vision, and visual system. An optometrist is a term given to a healthcare professional who is capable of prescribing and dispensing vision, lens correction, and diagnosing eyes diseases in India, optometry course are offered in many paramedical/ medical colleges in the form of certificate, diplomas, and a bachelor’s degree.
Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc. Optometry
- As per Government rules to apply after 12th,one must be a minimum age for all Candidates is 17 years of age as of 31st December of the year they wish to apply for admissions.
- The candidate must Passed the Senior Secondary, Intermediate or 10+2 level with 45% marks from a recognized board with PCB stream with English as one of the subjects.
- There is no maximum age limit to take admission to this course.
- The candidate must be medically fit.
- Some top colleges and universities take admission through entrance exam / merit based for B.Sc. optometry.

B.Sc. Optometry Syllabus
The B.Sc. Optometry curriculum is designed for students to gain both theoretical and best practical experience.
